Navigating Postpartum Wellbeing: How Occupational Therapy Can Meet The Need

Webinar Description: 
In this 1- hour webinar, Dr. Carlin Daley Reaume will lead participants through an exploration of prevalent health and wellbeing challenges that can occur for people after giving birth and understand the critical role that occupational therapy can play in supporting clients through this significant time of transition. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the impact of lifestyle considerations within this phase of life and learn simple, evidence-based intervention approaches that can create a powerful starting point for providing holistic care.

Learning Objectives: 
Following webinar attendance, participants will be able to:

  • Recall health and wellbeing concerns that can arise for people after giving birth.
  • Explain the role of occupational therapy in addressing factors impacting occupational performance of the postpartum population.
  • Identify occupational therapy interventions that can be used to address common postpartum health concerns.


Speaker: Carlin Daley Reaume, OTD, OTR/L, DipACLM

Dr. Carlin Daley Reaume is a licensed occupational therapist with a board certification in Lifestyle Medicine (DipACLM) and additional specialty certifications in Pilates, Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise (PCES), and Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). Dr. Reaume is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and a graduate of Loyola Marymount University's Yoga Therapy RX Certificate Program. After completing both her Master’s and Doctorate at the University of Southern California, she has created a career weaving together her background in Lifestyle Redesign, mental health, mindfulness and movement in order to forge her own path in a variety of non-traditional OT settings including workplace wellness, college student mental health, and maternal wellness. She launched her private practice, Supported Mama, in 2020 with the goal of helping women reconnect to their bodies after pregnancy in a way that supports both physical and mental wellbeing. Dr. Reaume is an Assistant Clinical Professor within the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, California and currently serves as the Advocacy & Government Affairs Committee Chair for the Occupational Therapy Association of California.
